Feldspar Beneficiation Process

In feldspar beneficiation process, the ore will be first extracted from the deposit. Open-pit mining methods including removal of overburden, drilling and blasting, loading, and transport by trucks are used to mine ores containing feldspar.

Feldspars are either selectively processed by optical, flotation or electrostatic separation, in order to remove the accessory minerals (e.g. quartz, mica, rutile, etc.) present in the ore. A froth flotation process is used for most feldspar ore beneficiation.

The feldspar then undergoes a comminution step including crushing and grinding process. The ore is crushed by primary and secondary crushers and ground by jaw crushers, cone crushers, and rod mills until it is reduced to less than 841 ¦Ìm (20 mesh). Then the ore passes to a three-stage, acid-circuit flotation process.

Crusher for Feldspar Processing

Due to its various industrial applications, feldspar mining and crushing is promising and profitable industry. Jaw crusher, impact crusher, or gyratory crushers are usually used for primary size reduction. The crusher product, normally 7.5 to 30 cm in diameter.

After primary crushing, the stone that is too large to pass through the vibrating screen will be crushed in the secondary crusher. Cone crushers or impact crushers are commonly used for secondary crushing, which typically reduces material to about 2.5 to 10 cm.
