The Application Of Diatomite In Sewage Industry

2021-03-25

Diatomite is a kind of non-metallic mineral that grows in the bottom of the water through the natural action of diatom residues growing in the ocean or lake. Its chemical components are amorphous SiO2, or even more than 90% of the and a small amount of Al2O3, Fe2O3, CaO, MgO, K2O, Na2O, P2O5, etc., It has the shape of diatomaceous block and the color of the stone is shale white, grayish green, dark green and blue gray. The larger the diatom content, the less white the color and the lighter the quality. The relative density is generally 0.4-0.9. The diatom of diatomaceous has many different shapes, such as disc shape, needle shape, tube shape, feather shape and the like. Because of its high void ratio, large specific surface, small specific gravity, wear resistance, acid resistance, strong adsorption, heat insulation, heat insulation and sound insulation, it is widely used in food, building materials, water treatment and other industries.

The main use of diatomite for sewage is the surface properties of diatomaceous , the special properties brought by the precision and pore structure, which makes it stable in performance, strong in adsorption, and capable of adsorbing 1.5-4 times, its own weight of liquid, adsorbing its own quality 11-15 times oil. The adsorption properties of diatomaceous earth are closely related to its physical structure and chemical structure. In general, the larger the specific surface area, the larger the adsorption amount, the larger the pore size, and the larger the diffusion rate of the adsorption amount in the pores, the more favorable the adsorption equilibrium is, and the surface of the diatomaceous earth and the inner surface of the pores are distributed in a large amount. Silanol groups, which hydrolyze H+ in aqueous solution, so that the diatomaceous particles exhibit a certain surface electronegativity.

At present, it is more effective to use the adsorption method to treat daily life industrial waste water. Diatomite has high adsorption and decolorization ability, and its price is lower than that of activated carbon. It is expected to replace activated carbon as an ideal waste water adsorption material. However, the treatment effect of directly adsorbing diatomaceous into the waste water to remove and remove pollutants is inefficient. If it is calcined, compounded or modified and then used for waste water treatment, its purification efficiency can be greatly improved. For example, diatomaceous will form a negative charge on the surface after ionization in an aqueous solution, and can effectively adsorb positively charged colloidal pollutants. However, for most of the negatively charged domestic and industrial wastewater, the diatomaceous earth needs to be calcined, acid washed and pretreated, and a cationic coagulant is added to form a composite structure. When a positively charged polymer substance or a highly polymerized ion adsorbs a negatively charged colloidal particle, an electric neutralization action is generated, thereby realizing the detachment of the positive and negative charge colloidal particles, and greatly improving the sewage treatment effect. After the organic diatomite ore is extracted by acidic water, it is calcined at a high temperature under the protection of nitrogen to form a composite material of amorphous activated carbon diatomaceous with larger specific surface area and stronger adsorption capacity, and the modified treatment can further improve the adsorption performance. The active groups such as silicon hydroxy groups and manganese hydroxy groups on the diatomaceous modified by manganese oxide are adsorbed, and then aniline is removed by oxidation of the manganese oxide, wherein azobenzene is an intermediate product. Other studies have shown that after acid treatment and ultrasonic modification, the adsorption capacity of natural diatomaceous for metal irons is activated and enhanced.

The processing fineness of diatomite in the sewage industry is between 200 mesh and 325 mesh. The Shanghai Zenith of Mining company has been engaged in industrial milling for more than 30 years and it can provide a professional complete set in the industry. It not only provides customers with grinding equipment and services from a single unit to a complete system, but also covers the entire process of mineral processing. We Zenith specialize in different fields with customers. The product processing range covers 1-3mm coarse powder, 20-400 mesh fine powder, 400-1250 mesh ultrafine powder and 1250-3250 mesh micro powder. It can be used for the grinding of various non-metallic minerals.

The MTW series European version of the trapezoidal mill developed by Shanghai Zenith Mining is a new generation of world advanced powder grinding equipment designed and manufactured by our company. This kind of grinding equipment has been researched and designed by dozens of staff members of our company based on in-depth analysis of the traditional mill structure and properties, as well as demands and suggestions from more than 9500 customers. This series of models have incomparable advantages over the traditional mills, including several world advanced technologies, such as bevel gear integral transmission, internal thin oil lubrication system and oil temperature online measurement, as well as several independently patented technologies. The MTW series European mill has a feed size of 30-50mm, the fineness of the finished product is 1.2-0.045mm, the finest is up to 0.038mm, and the output is between 3-50 tons per hour. It is the best choice for processing the diatomite to 100-325 mesh.
