Crushing plant: Talc ore generally is delivered to the processing plant by truck from a nearby mine. The ore is crushed, mainly in a jaw crusher, and screened. The coarse material then is returned to the impact crusher or cone crusher. Rotary dryers may be used to dry the material.

Grinding mill: Secondary grinding is achieved with ball mills or roller mills, producing a particle size that is 325 to 100 mesh in size. Some roller mills are designed to use heated air to dry the material as it is being ground. Hammer mills or compressed air powered jet mills may be used to produce additional final products.

Separation machine: Air classifiers or separators, generally in closed circuit with the mills, separate the material into coarse, coarse-plus-fine, and fine fractions. The coarse and coarse-plus-fine fractions then are stored as products. The fines may be concentrated using a shaking table to separate product containing small quantities of nickel, iron, cobalt, or other minerals and then may undergo a one-step flotation process.

Further processing equipment: The resultant talc slurry is dewatered and filtered prior to passing through a flash dryer. The flash-dried product is then stored for shipment, unless it needs further grinding to meet customer specifications. The classified material also may be pelletized prior to packaging for specific applications.

Talc Production Line

In talc production line, the extracted talc materials will be conveyed to quarry processing equipment. Techniques applied for extraction vary with the nature and location of the deposit. Production operations generally involve crushing, screening, size classification, material handling and processing operations etc.
